  • Regional Data

  • You may already know a lot about Louisville.  We are home to Churchill downs, the site of the Kentucky Derby.  We are home to the Louisville Slugger.  Muhammed Ali was born here and built a center dedicated to world peace in downtown.  Louisville's Valhalla golf course hosted the 2008 Ryder cup.  And many of the world's greatest bourbons, from Maker's Mark to Jim Beam to Woodford Reserve, are distilled in our region along the Bourbon Trail.

What you probably don't know is what Louisville is becoming...

    • More than $2 billion in construction projects are underway in downtown alone, including a new waterfront arena.
    • Over the last two years, during a severe economic recession, more than 100 companies have made commitments to stay here, move here, build here or grow here.
    • Since 2006, Louisville has hosted the IdeaFestival , a world-class event that attracts big thinkers and dreamers from around the globe.
    • There are more than 2,000 condos and apartments under construction in the city's urban center - with more planned.
    • Our region is in the midst of North America's largest metropolitan parks project, which will add 4,000 acres of new parkland and a 100-mile hike and bike trail around the city.
